The London Challenge
Greater Manchester Challenge

The Greater Manchester Challenge was officially launched at the Lowry Gallery in Salford on 6 May 2008 by Beverley Hughes, Minister of State for Children, Young People and Families.

School children from all 10 local authorities (LAs) came together to create artwork in the form of a jigsaw. Pupils from two schools in each LA created a piece of artwork which represented their LA. Each of the ten pieces were then fitted together to represent the whole of Greater Manchester.

Video footage of the launch is available here.
